Description

kinda weird how I started this one.

I started out wanting to make a realistic representation of Tikei that reflected me, then it turned into a perspective experiment doomed to never see the light of day, then I colored it and ended up liking it.

A lot, actually.

Weird how the worst sketches turn out the best, right?

On a side note, besides the fact that he's all furry 'n stuff, that looks exactly like me.

Tikei's mine, and all.

Just figured I'd throw something out to show you that I'm still active... Got something else coming that's taking a lot of time to finish. A couple of things, actually.

*EDIT* I added Erika.

*EDIT* It looks better, yes?

So, you want a critique, eh? At face value I like this image a whole lot. It's cute, and has a style that's very vector-based, but is unique.

What it has going for it is the style. Seems like things nowadays are leaning more toward the cut-out simple vector ideal, and you've obviously nailed that. Things to keep in mine with this image are, though, clarity and readability. At first I had trouble distinguishing what the character was - the feet sort of blend down into the ground, and the shadow cast below becomes an ambiguous blob. Along with the gray-furred character on the right, all parts beside the red fur and black shirt seem to recede.

I think you can still make this a higher-contrast image while keeping your appealing style. Just keep in mind tangents (where objects on different planes seem to touch, which flattens things out even more), and contrast. I'd change the background to make this more discernible.

Overall, though, it's cute, and you've really mastered the shapes and forms with chibis. Nice work! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt="=D" title="=D (Big Grin)"/>
