Description

LOL

the dimensions are so small |D

I updated some stuff on Erika's design. Pretty much just the ears. The only other thing I really updated is that there's a little tuft of fur where the tail starts.

This picture actually gave me a shitload of problems... It started out as a redo of "Sleepyhead," but it went in a different direction. I wanted to make it a full body version, but I just decided to make it a different picture altogether. The anatomy gave me the worst problems, I just can't do legs DDDDD: I gave up and cut it off a bit.

=dawniie gave me some advice, she really helped me out with the hair a lot C: She told me to do another layer of shadows, I tried it, but I couldn't get it to work... I liked the simplicity of the 1 layer. I'm sorry I didn't use all of your advice :'<

The anatomy looks a lot better than you're giving yourself credit for! Yes, the legs are the weakest part, as you mentioned, but they in no way really detract from the image as a whole. I think the only thing making them look strange is the almost "inverse" shading. The darkest hue is on top, where the rest of her body is affected by light. Everywhere else the cel-shading is fantastically done.

You've accomplished some great depth in the upper half: think about how volumetric her hair looks. You can see there is a 3D head in the hair - now if you applied to the entire image, it would REALLY pop more than it does.

As I addressed in the other critique, I don't think keeping colors so close to the transparent background color of dA is necessarily the best idea, but this image seems to stand out more than the previous one.

The adorable expression is, well, adorable, and I like this image more overall. It's very sincere and shaded well! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt="=D" title="=D (Big Grin)"/>
